Copilot Money alternative for Android and the web

Copilot's help center lists iPhone, iPad, Mac and web, and its pages don't mention an Android app. If you or your partner uses an Android phone, an app that runs in the browser may suit you better.

Monio runs in any web browser, on a computer or a phone, so it works on Android phones as well as iPhones, Windows PCs and Macs. There's nothing to install.

How each app counts card payments, refunds and paybacks

Copilot keeps card payments and transfers between your own accounts out of your spending budgets as Internal Transfers. You can mark a transaction as an Internal Transfer and apply that to similar ones. Monio pairs the bank side and the card side of a payment and leaves both out of spending.

For a refund, Copilot's help says to mark it as Regular (not Income) in the same category as the purchase, with its date matched to the original. Its beta Money Assistant suggests refund matches. A payback from a friend is handled by splitting the payment and setting the piece to Regular in the original category. Monio matches refunds and paybacks to the purchase they were for and takes them off it, in that purchase's category and month.

Say you buy $90 of concert tickets for you and two friends, and each friend sends you $30 on Venmo. In Monio, the two paybacks are matched to the tickets and your spending shows $30. You don't have to split or re-date anything.

Splitwise and Venmo

Copilot's help pages don't describe a Splitwise connection; Splitwise appears there only as a feature request. For Venmo, Copilot reads receipt emails you forward to a Copilot address, and past history doesn't come over on its own.

Monio connects to Splitwise directly and links each bill to the card charge it belongs to, so only your share counts. If a friend paid a $150 dinner and Splitwise says you owe $50, Monio counts $50 as your spending, and the $50 you send later settles it instead of counting twice.

Budgets and the rest of the month

Copilot uses category budgets with an optional rollover of unspent money, and you can edit budgets month by month and see them up to 12 months ahead. Budgeting is optional. The dashboard shows a Free to Spend amount that leaves out scheduled recurring payments. Its help pages don't describe a month-end spending projection.

Monio drafts a first budget from your recent spending, with fixed costs like rent as the floor, and shows month-to-date and month-end views of your spending that you can open by category. Monio also tracks the statement credits on your cards, shows what's used and what's left, and takes each one off the purchase it covers. Copilot's help pages don't describe card-credit tracking.

Copilot Money price vs. Monio price

Copilot is $13 a month or $95 a year, listed on Copilot's site in October 2026. The free trial is one month, and its terms say a payment method is required. There's no free tier.

Monio is $7.99 a month or $80 a year, with a 7-day free trial and no credit card needed to start.

Sharing with a partner

Copilot's help center describes sharing by sending your partner the magic-link sign-in, so they log in to the same account with full control. Separate logins aren't described, and it suggests category groups and tags to tell your spending apart.

In Monio, a partner joins your household for $5 a month with their own login and their own accounts. Each person chooses which accounts to share, and the rest stay private. Money moved between you isn't counted as spending and income in the household view.

Categories, AI and investments

Copilot Intelligence learns from how you categorize, building a model for you once you've reviewed 30 transactions. The Investments tab shows holdings, allocation and performance, though its help notes that investment history isn't backfilled and investment transactions often don't appear.

Monio sorts spending into a short list of categories. When you fix one, you choose this transaction, this merchant going forward or every match, and Monio keeps your choice on future syncs. Monio AI answers questions about your spending and can be turned off in Settings. Investment balances count toward your net worth; Monio doesn't give investment advice.

Why Monio

What Monio does well.

  • Shared costs handled

When a friend pays you back, Monio finds the purchase it was for, and Splitwise bills are linked to the card charge. Only your share counts.

  • Refunds where they belong

A refund comes off the purchase it was for, in that purchase's category and month, with no re-dating by hand.

  • Household view

Share chosen accounts with a partner and see household spending without counting money moved between you twice.

Switching

Moving from Copilot Money to Monio.

Bank connections can't move between apps, but your categories, how you sort each store and your past transactions can. Export a file from Copilot Money, then upload it in Monio under Switch to Monio.

  1. In Copilot on your iPhone, open Settings.

  2. Tap Account, then Export.

  3. Save the file, then open Monio on that phone or send the file to your computer.

The file is a .csv Copilot just created. In Monio, choose Switch to Monio and upload it. You check everything before it's applied, and you can undo the import for 30 days.
