Questions
Common questions.
How were these budgeting apps compared?
Each app was checked against its own website and help pages in October 2026, and every comparison links the pages it used. Where an app's help pages don't describe a feature, the table says so instead of guessing.
Can I move my data from another budgeting app to Monio?
Yes. Export a file from Monarch Money, YNAB, Copilot, Rocket Money, Quicken Simplifi, Empower, Tiller or an old Mint download, and upload it in Monio. Your categories, how you sorted each store and your past transactions come over. You check everything first and can undo it for 30 days.
What does Monio cost compared with other budgeting apps?
Monio is $7.99 a month or $80 a year, with a 7-day free trial and every feature included. A household seat for a partner is $5 a month. Each comparison lists the other app's price as shown on its own site when it was checked.
Is there a budgeting app like these that works in Canada?
Monio works in the US and Canada. Choose Canada when you set up Monio and it connects Canadian banks and cards through Plaid and shows your money in Canadian dollars. Monio's prices are in US dollars.
What makes Monio different from other budgeting apps?
Monio works out what each transaction means before it counts it. Card payments and transfers between your own accounts are left out, refunds come off the purchase they were for, and when friends pay you back, only your share counts as spending.
